Claude's context handling is notable for its consistency -- it maintains quality and coherence throughout long conversations rather than degrading as the context fills up. ChatGPT's memory features allow it to remember information across sessions, which is useful for ongoing projects but raises privacy considerations.
At the API level, pricing varies significantly by model and usage. Claude tends to offer the best value for high-volume coding and analysis tasks. Gemini's pricing is competitive for multimodal workloads. ChatGPT's API pricing is straightforward but can add up quickly for heavy usage.
Anthropic has positioned Claude as the most privacy-conscious option, with clear data handling policies and a default of not training on user conversations. OpenAI has improved its privacy controls but the default data-sharing settings still require attention. Google's data practices with Gemini are intertwined with its broader data ecosystem, which is either a benefit or a concern depending on your perspective and your organization's policies.
